Spoiler: An SVU season finale that kept me gasping

And I not only gasped, but there were also times when I actually swore at the TV. I think tonight's finale was one of the best, if not the best, episode of the season. I am not going to give a total rundown, but I will give a brief synopsis.

A woman is found murdered (isn't that how all Law & Order episodes start?) and the suspect they pick up is paranoid. He thinks he is being followed, thinks people are out to get him and eventually is labeled as mentally ill. Because of a clerical error, made by that very eclectic lab technician Dale, the obvious murderer is set free on lack of evidence. In the closing minutes of the episode, in a very shocking twist, we find out that DALE is the killer! To make up for his mistake he tried to plant another murder on the conspiracy theorist, but when he left behind evidence he starting killing others who might figure it out.

One additional note, here are two interesting quotes from the episode that further explain the extremity of the paranoid man's actions:
- "Hey, we'll be watching you." "Who isn't?"
- "...and I didn't kill you. You did it to yourselves."

So what did you think? The ending included a turn of events I was not expecting and it kept me on my toes. Do you agree that it was a great episode? If you didn't watch, I recommend you do. Episodes like this one remind me why Law & Order is the type of television must-watch it is.
