This week's Gossip Girl episode showed Jenny's further dissent to the dark side. It also featured a threesome I didn't actually find believable. Anyway, here is the New York Magazine Daily Intel reality index and below are a few additions as well as some of my own thoughts.
- There is no way Jenny would have waited until the day before to find a date to the cotillion. Minus two because no matter what she had to do, she would have been better prepared.
- Either Olivia is going to decide to stay at school or she is going to film the movie, there isn't really much room for persuasion. Yet Dan and Vanessa try to get her to enjoy college so much she doesn't want to leave. Plus one because of course they tried this tactic.
- Didn't Eric realize that the second he joined forces with Blair he was sinking to Jenny's scheming level? Minus four because Eric is usually smarter than that. He doesn't seem like the game-playing type. (Which makes me understand why Jonathan dumped him.)
- The whole Serena/Tripp storyline is so stereotypical, and thus realistic, that it deserves a plus five.
As for a side thought, even before they showed the preview I knew the threesome was a bad idea that is going to ruin everything. And while on this topic, I don't even believe that it happened. Dan and Vanessa have been best friends forever and they would not have slept together just for fun and without some serious thought. I think this is a stupid storyline and I hope it doesn't drag out for too long. And I definitely don't want Dan and Vanessa to try dating following this one-night mistake.
Also, I want to second what was said in the Reality Index post about the cotillion dresses. No way would the girls have been allowed to wear such extreme colors. But I guess with Lily in charge, the teenage girls realized they could take advantage.
Anyway, feel free to leave your own tallies.
