Spoiler: Dollhouse - Life after death

Tonight's episode was much more low key than other recent episodes and centered around Echo being imprinted as a woman who just died. The woman who just died is Margaret and the imprint takes on the identity of Julia. Margaret was suspicious that someone was going to kill her so she had planned to have the imprint take over her life and solve her murder. Julia was mentioned to her family members as a good friend so she is welcomed into their lives. Margaret is expecting Julia to enjoy her time with the family but she instead finds out most of her family members did not like her. As for murder suspects, Margaret thought it would be someone who was jealous of her money but it never crossed her mind that it could be a family member. Julia first suspects her husband, than her brother and at the last second figures out it was her son. She also rights some wrongs, rewriting her will and writing a note saying she was suspicious of her son.

In other news, Boyd does not like the idea of eternal life being a possibility and is also visibly having a difficult time letting go of Echo; Topher talks Boyd into letting him run tests on an active but he really imprints Sierra so he has someone to hang out with and celebrate his birthday; Mellie knows something is wrong with Paul but she says she is willing to ignore it; and Paul runs Mellie's prints through the FBI database with the help of a friend and a match is pulled up but only to disappear after a few seconds, making him more suspicious.

Next week's episode looks crazy. Paul finally finds the Dollhouse and gets inside and we are prompted to expect the return of Alpha. What did you think of tonight's episode? Do you agree that it seemed like a filler show where not all that much happened?
