Castle: "Are you really rooting against solving a murder?"

On last night's Castle, a therapist is found killed in her office and a man is found dead on the street. Since there are two murder cases open simultaneously, Castle and Beckett worked on one while Esposito and Ryan worked on the other. It didn't take long for the trash talking to start and from there the guys decided to bet on who would solve their case first. At first they decide not to tell Beckett, and when she finds out she does do a bit of lecturing. But then she and Castle seem to be getting close to a suspect so she announces she wants in on the bet. But every lead either team gets ends up being a dead end. Then the medical examiner calls to tell them that the two murders, which seemed at first very different from one another, are actually connected by a salt water residue found on both victims. It is then that they realize that the obvious suspects for each murder - the woman's husband and the man's son - actually committed the other murder. The man's son killed the therapist because the husband wanted out of the marriage and the husband killed the son's father because the son wanted the rent controlled apartment.

Again, I loved the witty banter, especially at the very end, and the relationship between Castle, his mother and his daughter is always entertaining. I was also a bit shocked when Beckett opened up about her mother's murder, telling Castle that while finding a murderer may be important knowing why your loved one was killed is always the most important thing. And, to end on a funny note, I just want to point out that I too would have been so caught up on the wrong usage of your if I had found it written incorrectly on a victims face.
