America voted, but who got kicked off?

Last night's SYTYCD episode opened with an Asian inspired, Wade Robson choreographed group dance. It was funky, weird, stylized and very obviously choreographed by Wade.

As for announcements during the show, four choreographers received Emmy nominations: Mia, Tabitha and Napoleon, Tyce and Dimitri. Also, Nigel was not there last night because he was receiving an honorary degree. That left Cat, Debbie and Mary alone to act like silly teenage girls.

Now for the important stuff. The bottom two girls, based solely on votes, were Randi and Melissa. And the bottom two guys were Kupono and Ade. The four then each danced the solo they performed the night before, which had no effect on the outcome. We then found out that it was Randi and Kupono who were sent home.

These two being dismissed only further proves that at this point in the season one bad dance can lead to disaster. As for Melissa and Ade being in the bottom, I think America is waiting for Melissa to entertain us. Yes, she is a beautiful dancer, but she isn't impressive in any way. And I have no explanation for why Ade was in the bottom. Probably because Brandon and Jason danced wonderfully Wednesday night and Evan has a huge fan base.

Next week is time for celebration. Thursday is the 100th SYTYCD episode and it is being celebrated with the Katie Holmes performance, plus past memorable performances will be performed, which means guest appearances from past contestants. Also, Ellen Degeneres will guest judge along with Mia next Wednesday. I am really looking forward to that!

So what do you think about who was sent home? I have to admit I'm not all that disappointed.
