More to Love ... or Hate?
I have never been a fan of reality shows like The Bachelor, but I have to admit that I was intrigued by the concept of the new Fox reality show More to Love. The basis is that the man at the center of the show is supposed to find love amongst a group of women. The twist is that these women as supposed to represent the true female population - they are all ... heavy. They wear sizes 14 or 16, which is the size the average American woman wears. The show's website calls it an "inspirational new series" and I think the show has potential to be just that. But there is also a fine line. If these women are truly a representation of the American average, then why did the show need to be named More to Love? I didn't watch the show when it premiered last night but if you did I would love to hear what you thought of it. Does it portray size as an obstacle or are the women confident in their bodies? Let me know your opinions and maybe someday soon I will watch an episode.
