The top 10 is revealed

Tonight's group dance, again choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon, was very entertaining. The dancers sure were rocking and were hard hitting in their movements. The choreography was sharp and exactly what I would expect from NappyTabbs.

Two side notes before I start on the important information: tonight was Nigel's 60th birthday (!!) and, sadly, the dancers will not be paying tribute to Michael Jackson because the show was denied the rights to the music.

Also, I am disappointed that Nigel told us that the judges are told on Thursday mornings who is in the bottom. He said they already make their decision about who to send home before the live results show even airs. So the whole dance-for-your-life thing seems a lot less necessary now. Nigel said the solos can still sway the judges to change their mind, but I guess the result show just seems a bit less exciting now. I am disappointed to hear this news.

Anyway, moving on, the bottom three was Caitlin & Jason; Janine & Phillip; and Melissa & Ade. I am a bit shocked Melissa and Ade found themselves in the bottom and Kayla and Kupono were safe. As for their solos, Caitlin tried really hard to be cute in her routine and overall it was a nice performance; Jason danced around hectically with no shirt on and I didn't think the routine was all that great; Janine danced well technically, but throughout her performance she was in no way connecting with the audience; Phillip is always entertaining, but this particular routine wasn't the best thing I've ever seen; Melissa played up the sexy ballerina thing and her performance was entertaining because it was not classical ballet but instead a jazzy ballet routine; and Ade showed that he is not only good technically, but that he is also entertaining and an exciting dancer.

At the end of the night, the judges chose to send Caitlin and Phillip home. I'm in no way surprised by the decision to send Caitlin home, but I am shocked that the judges saved Jason over Phillip. \

Anyway, now that we have made it to the top 10, each dancer is on their own. They are now singles instead of pairs and, as Nigel pointed out, the dancers have to start proving themselves as stars. The judges no longer make decisions about who goes home so starting next week the viewers have complete control on who stays and who goes. This is a lot of responsibility and I hope we are up to the challenge.

For the record, here is a list of the top 10:
- Melissa
- Ade
- Kayla
- Kupono
- Jason
- Janine
- Randi
- Evan
- Janette
- Brandon

Who do you think stands out at this point? Who would you like to see win? Are you sad to see Caitlin or Phillip sent home? Leave me comments.
