More 90210 guest star news

I know I am a few days late in posting this, but since it has been getting so much attention I now feel like I have no choice. Rumer Willis, daughter to Bruce and Demi, is set to play a lesbian journalist who works at the school newspaper on the second episode of 90210's sophomore season. The AP has the full story here. I'm not sure how I feel about this. For one, I don't understand why it is necessary to announce her appearance and attach that she is a lesbian right off the bat. If she were playing a straight journalist the distinction would not be made. I just hope her role is not too stereotypical because that would only lead to me losing more respect for the show.
