Spoiler: Entourage premiere finds every character on their own

Before I summarize Entourage's season premiere, I have two things I want to say. 1) I love this show and am so happy the sixth season has finally started. I now have a reason to look forward to Sunday night. 2) I think it is so funny how the "previously on..." segment before the start of the episode literally showed everything that happened last season. I could have not watched last season and known exactly what was going on. Now, onto a summary.

We pick up at least a few months after where we left off. Vince has already filmed the Martin Scorsese Great Gatsby film and is doing press for the movie. Most importantly, during this episode Vince visits The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and also has to pass a driver's test. On Leno, Vince is hysterical and everyone agrees that this completes his comeback. As for the driving test, apparently Vince never got his license but because he is doing a movie in which he plays Enzo Ferrari, he decides to get his license. Only he sucks at driving. But luckily the driving instructor is easily bought off and Vince gets his license, even after hitting some cones, because he bribes the instructor with passes to the Gatsby premiere.

In other happenings, Lloyd asks Ari for a promotion and even threatens to leave the company if Ari does not follow through. This is one of the first times we really see Lloyd stand up for himself and it is great. This promotion would mean Lloyd would become an agent and no longer be Ari's assistant. Ari does not want this to happen because he knows how wonderful Lloyd is as an assistant. At the end of the episode, Ari proposes that is Lloyd can survive 100 days as an agent, then he can get the promotion. But Ari plans on essentially hazing him (the first task is to lose weight) so this should be very interesting.

Also on this episode we have E who somehow has become a ladies man. The guys keep ragging on him about it, but he seems to be enjoying this new side of himself; a side that is willing to just have fun with women. Then E gets a call from Sloan who offers him the opportunity to sublet her friend's beautiful house cheap. While they banter back and forth and flirt, E tells her he hasn't really considered moving into a place on his own but he does tell her he will consider it. After talking about it with Vince, who swears he will be fine living alone, E takes Sloan up on the offer. He sublets the house and gets closer to Sloan, which causes the guys to bust him about having feelings for her again.

But what this episode really showed was that each of the four guys are starting to have their own lives: Turtle is still dating Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Drama is working a lot, Eric is a successful manager who will soon be living on his own and Vince's career is back on track. The final scene of the episode shows Vince returning home to an empty house. Maybe this is foreshadowing the fact that the guys may be growing apart a bit.

Also, as a side note, I am a feminist through and through. And as sexist as most of Ari's lines are, I love them. He is so funny. Only Ari Gold can say the things he says and I be OK with it.

So what did you think of the first episode? I think it sets us up nicely for a great season. I personally cannot wait for next week when it is the Gatsby movie premiere.
