American Idol - Creating a mountain out of a molehill

Why was it necessary for the preview splices throughout the first half of tonight's episode to make the wall/window collapse look like the worst and most dangerous thing that could ever happen? Yes, the window covering behind the judges fell, but people were there to save the day immediately and how it fell, it wasn't like it was even close to hitting any of the judges. American Idol producers at this point are pretty talented at making things look better/worse than they seem.
