I have said it multiple times and I will repeat myself - Glee completes my week. And last night's episode did not disappoint, especially when we got to see Will dance in two hip hop performances. Below is a short recap of the episode, which featured a few pretty entertaining song and dance routines.
- Sue is asked on a date by the local news anchor and quickly finds herself in love with him. We then see a completely different Sue - one who is not mean, but instead oddly nice. She even takes dance lessons with Will as a way to impress her new boyfriend. But then she finds the boyfriend making out with his co-anchor and he turns to her and says, you didn't think we were exclusive, did you? Sue finds herself with a broken heart and turns back into her mean self. She even storms up to Quinn and kicks her off the cheerios, which upsets Quinn, until she is reminded that her friends on glee will not turn their backs on her.
- Emma and Ken's wedding continues to take form and should be awarded as the most unconventional wedding in the history of weddings. And when the couple approaches Will to ask for dance lessons, things only get weirder. Ken wants their wedding song to be The Thong Song. Regardless, Will says he will make it work and gives Emma lessons as his wedding gift to them. That is when Ken sees them together and snaps. Ken knows Emma is settling with him, but Will needs to discourage Emma because otherwise she is always going to want to be with him.
- Puck begins showing interest in Rachel when he realizes it will please his mother if he dated a Jewish girl. So the two become an item, even though Rachel is not all that into him at the beginning. But then Rachel breaks up with him because she knows they both want to be with other people - her with Finn and Puck with Quinn.
- This was the episode of the slushie war. We have seen Rachel gets slushies thrown in her face, but at the top of this episode we see Finn slushied. Glee makes you unpopular, so the king and queen of the school - Quinn and Finn - find themselves no longer cool. (They even go to Emma for advice in a funny scene where she covers her own thoughts by telling them to wear sunglasses to be cool.) The football team is even rebelling against Finn because they want him to quit glee. Then Ken institutes a new practice schedule - one that conflicts with glee's schedule - and makes practice mandatory, thus forcing the kids on both teams to choose. If all of the guys do not choose glee, then they cannot compete. When the time comes, everyone but Finn chooses glee. But then Will talks with Finn, saying Finn reminds him of himself and that he belongs in glee. So Finn goes to Ken and gives a speech about how he sees a future where glee is cool. In the end, the guys are allowed to stay a part of both teams.
Because of longer So You Think You Can Dance episodes and baseball playoffs, Glee will not air a new episode for a few weeks. I'm already having withdrawals. But as for some good news to keep us happy, according to this news, Madonna has opened up her music catalog to the show so we can expect a few Madonna songs/performances in the near future.
