Grey's: "All you've got is a bunch of yesterdays and a very few tomorrows"

Here is a short recap of this week's Grey's Anatomy.

The most important storyline is that Lexie and Meredith's father, Thatcher, is in the hospital with what they find out is liver failure. Because he is an alcoholic, he is not eligible to be placed on the transplant list. Lexie offers to go through with the life threatening surgery but she is not a match. Lexie then pleads with Meredith, even going as far as to say that it wouldn't be for their father but as a favor from Meredith to Lexie, who just wants her father back. In the end, Meredith is a match and goes through with the operation, even after Thatcher has to be convinced to take the liver; He feels like Meredith doesn't owe him anything. At the end of the show, both were in recovery and doing well.

Some other storylines include: Cristina pleading with the chief to cut her from the program since no one is willing to help her learn; Cali, who stressed the entire episode about approaching him, is rehired by the chief; Izzie talks Owen into fighting for a cancer patient who then dies during surgery, which leads to him giving her a speech about how she cannot be both a doctor and a patient at the same time; Alex and Izzie have decided, after a few run-ins with a bear, that they can no longer live in Derek's trailer.

Next week the merger happens and more people will be cut. This promises to be a good episode.
