At the top of tonight's So You Think You Can Dance Vegas week episode, the remaining contestants were broken into groups and told to choreograph and practice through the night to be prepared to perform for the judges in the morning. While the clips from this part of the audition phase are usually the best, things were not as dramatic as usual this year. I was almost disappointed when few groups failed miserably.
During this episode we also saw some dancers breaking from the pressure of the week. We saw grown men crying and tons of dancers talking about how overwhelmed they were. Some dancers even talked about how their time during Vegas week was life changing. I remember what it feels like to perform and I wish I could know what a week of experiences similar to that feels like.
At the end of the episode, and the end of Vegas week, 38 dancers were given one last shot to impress the judges by performing in their own genre. Some of the solos actually brought the judges to tears and Mia has already proclaimed that this season's contestants will blow season five out of the water.
Next week we find out who is in the top 20 and then the live shows start. And even though this really isn't anytime soon because baseball playoffs will put it off for a while, I already cannot wait.
