NBC has been searching for a new star for the show Parenthood ever since Maura Tierney pulled out of the project to focus on her battle with breast cancer. While it was rumored Helen Hunt was the likely choice, it has been announced that Lauren Graham, best know for her role as Lorelai Gilmore on the CW's Gilmore Girls, has been hired as the replacement. I was sad when Tierney announced she wouldn't be on the show, but I think Graham also has a lot to offer. I think she will bring a great sense of humor to the show and this further makes me want to watch the show, which will begin its season sometime this winter.
