OTH: Everyone seems to be in a downward spiral

Here is a short recap of this week's One Tree Hill.

- Julian and Alex are spending a lot of time together, which of course Brooke doesn't like. When he reads her script rewrite, he is honestly shocked, as in impressed, by her. In other Brulian news, Brooke sees Chace and wants to use him to help her as she starts a men's clothing line. When Julian finds out, he gets jealous. But after talking to Mia, they realize it is harmless. At the end of the episode though, after finding out that Alex stripped down naked in front of Julian, Brooke fires Alex and banishes Julian to sleep on the couch.
- Millie once again spent the entire night out partying with Alex. Then, when Brooke announces that Millie is no longer her assistant, but only a model, Millie starts wondering if she truly wants to be a model. Her doubt is coming mostly from her fear that she is not beautiful enough, and at the end of the episode we see Millie taking diet pills. Earlier in the episode we also saw her choose not to eat. It seems like Millie may be very close to having an eating disorder in order to look how she thinks a model is supposed to look.
- Because of the scandal surrounding his life, Nathan is losing his endorsement deals and his contract negotiations have slowed. This is on the news radar and when Mouth talks to Nate about it, Nathan tells Mouth to do the story to save his career. It seems like this is Mouth's intent, but while on air, Mouth stands up for Nathan and demonizes the news station for wanting to report on rumors. Then Mouth walks out feeling empowered.
- In other Nathan news, him and Hailey talk about the option of paying Renee the money she requested to get her out of their lives, but Nathan refuses because it then seems like he is admitting guilt. But Hailey calls Renee herself and seriously considers paying. In the end she doesn't go through with it, but does tell Nathan that she could not live with herself if he were to lose basketball.
- As for Renee, Dan wants her to go on his show and tell her side of the story, which he believes is the truth. Dan wants to support Renee and make Nathan admit to his mistake and take responsibility. At the end of the episode, Renee agrees to be on the show.

As pointed out by Nate, he is oh so close to being his father. After all these years trying to separate himself from Dan, if the affair turns out to be true, Nathan is doing exactly what Dan did - turn his back on his child. This is even more reason for me to hope that the baby is not his and that it is all part of an elaborate scheme planned by Renee.
